Hi,
we recently found your amazing software.
We tested the demo version and we found it very powerful.
The site and the forum seem not recently updated.
Can we still order the product VideoCAD Professional (with USB Dongle and additional Lite version license key)?
Is there any updated price list?
Is there any updated version of the software available (I mean beyond 8.2)?
Is there any update plan for future features and releases?
Is there any up-to-date repository for major manufacturers camera models (e.g. HikVIsion)?
Or we would need to create manually the entry for camera models we plan to use?
Thanks and best regards
Leonardo

Re: Is VideoCAD still on the market?
Dear Leonardo
Thank you for your post, I agree we neglect on-line activity lately, but we do not neglect developing, sales and support.
Of course VideoCAD is still on the market. We release new versions rarely but each upgrade brings many improvements and has been tested carefully.
Most of questions are asked by email. Our customers prefer email conversation it is their right.
Our site design is outdated you are right, but all information on the site is always actual.
Now VideoCAD 8.5 is sold with discount, VideoCAD 9 will be more expensive. All user s ordered VideoCAD 8 at present time will be able to upgrade to VideoCAD9 by paying price difference VideoCAD9-VideoCAD8.5.
But in VideoCAD9 we will try to get round the difficulties and make a convienient way for manufacturers how to add camera models with different sets of parameters. It is one of improvements already made.
To use whole power of VideoCAD even camera specifications can be not enough. You may need to test the cameras by yourself.

Our forum is updated when somebody asks a question here. All questions on our forum are real, there is no empty laudatory dummy posts. Real customers ask about problems they faced. If you do not see questions without answer - the forum is OK.

Actual version is VideoCAD Professional 8.5. (released on March 2018) Demo version was not updated for a long time.e3elettronica wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 17:05Is there any updated version of the software available (I mean beyond 8.2)?
We planned to release big upgrade in this year and I promised it. Now tens of improvements and new features have been already made, but we need more time for completion, therefore the next promised date is the first quarter of 2019.

We regulary receive requirements from manufacturers to add their cameras (including Hikvision). But it is not simple. VideoCAD supports a lot of camera parameters which are absent in manufacturer’s specifications, some parameters in specifications are not standardized or overrated. VideoCAD has physically exact simulation tools and errors in parameters will lead to errors in results.e3elettronica wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 17:05Is there any up-to-date repository for major manufacturers camera models (e.g. HikVIsion)?

Using camera specifications for choosing camera models and entering parameters of models in use by yourself is the most exact and professional way and it will be still the best way in the future. With any software and with VideoCAD especially.e3elettronica wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 17:05Or we would need to create manually the entry for camera models we plan to use?
