Thank you for your suggestion.

We'll think about PDF support, but I can't promise this feature in the new version.

You can convert PDF page to BMP file:
1. Open PDF page in Acrobat Reader and show necessary page in necessary scale on the screen.
* To increase image resolution increase screen resolution in Windows setting.
2. Press Alt+Print Screen (prt scr on portable computers).
3. Run Paint (graphics editor, presented in all Windows versions). Run>All programs>Accessories>Paint
4. In the Paint Main menu choose Edit>Paste. In the Paint window the screenshot will appear.
5. Edit your layout in Paint then save as BMP or JPG file.
6. Obtained BMP or JPG file can be loaded in VideoCAD as background.

You can also convert PDF to JPG using Adobe Acrobat Professional.

In VideoCAD8 you can load PDF files as a background (including multipage files). You can also export drawing to raster and vector PDF. A new PDF report tool was added. The PDF Report can include images from the cameras, fragments of layouts with camera placed, a cover with logo. Report parameters and the structure of information in the report is configurable. See example of PDF report.

Significant improvement in processing vector PDF files of drawings have been made in VideoCAD10. PDF files can be imported in vector form, without loss of resolution and without memory overload.
