Discrepancies in horizontal viewing angle

Hi CCTVCAD Support,

In the camera geometry,

For a image sensor format 1/3"
Focal length of 2.1
The horizontal viewing angle stated is 97.5degrees

Using the angle tool, the measured VIEW AREA EDGE is only 82degrees.
Please explain why VIEW AREA EDGE is not equal to the horizontal viewing angle.
The problem i face is to prove the horizontal viewing angle is 97.5 degrees to my customers.
Please help.

Thank you for your question.
This is a peculiarity of 3D geometry.
Probably you have measured the angle on the horizontal projection of view area. This projection angle will be differed from horizontal view angle. The difference depends on camera inclination angle.

To get the angle equal to horizontal view angle you should set Camera inclination angle to zero.
